The intention of the Oculus Photo Folio is to initiate dialogue and to foster a diverse nation-wide community of emerging photographic artists. Last year several participants got involved to bring the show to their area including Sejal Patel in Syracuse and Julie Anand in New Mexico. The national community we are trying to foster through this project becomes a reality as the show travels. The exhibition offers a chance for beginning and student photographers to see new and cutting edge works from the future teachers and professional artists in the field. The exhibition also becomes a meeting place for artists who are at a similar stage in their careers to discuss ideas and images. In addition to the community and teaching benefits of the real-world show this is also a major exposure opportunity for emerging artists and an opportunity for collectors to get in on the ground floor with undiscovered talent. In fact, many of the works in last years Folio were sold to collectors all over the country!
