Oculus Photographic Arts Group was founded in 2002 by a group of graduate students at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. The group has since spread all over the country for teaching jobs and other opportunities but our core ideals are still intact. We began our association because we felt a national dialogue amongst photo-based artists was long overdue, coming from different parts of the nation we were astonished by the difference in the photo arts communities we each had experienced. The group's varied but complimenting interests have functioned in each person's growth as an artist, the one constant and unifying element always in fact being the diversity of our work. It is our intent to increase public awareness of the diversity in the Photographic arts as well as to encourage and interact with our peers and gain from their varied experiences and knowledge.
